Archie! Oh yes. He would make a fabulous god, with his blue eyes of intense pretty.

Bush...kissed a girl? What? That is almost as bad as watching the episodes after Retribution. Hornblower's mind was taken over by aliens. There's no other explanation. How dare he betray Archie.

Is it just me, or did you pick up on the major Wellard/Captain Sawyer UST in the scene. (::should be shot for that though::)

Well, they were.

OH Jesus, retribution!!! If that wasn't... just... well, CRAP then I don't know what is... he must have been all confused and upset. I mean, how can you ignore that choked, teary exchange with half-naked half-dead Archie on the bed? Slash to the max!
I was also dissappointed at the lack of Captain Pellew, looking grumpy and hopeless. God I love him.

Well, they were. Oh damn you, now I feel as though Wellard's death was punishment for picking up on disturbed UST. ::digs out dvd's and consoles self::
Retribution is my all time favourite episode, (my favourite episodes are ranked by how full of slash they are) but I can't watch it much, it makes me so sad, and frustrated. How could Hornblower not tell Archie he loved him. He was dying, he'd just given up his life for him, I'm pretty sure the feelings were returned there. But no, he just sits there and attempts to be a man. feh.
And I just up for lack of Captain Pellew by watching My Family. It's so much more amusing seeing Pellew clean teeth and raise Harry Potter.

Anyway, whoo for hornblower, and pot, and black books. If only everyone were as perfectly marvelous as you.

Oh hang on... by retribution I thought you were referring to the episodes AFTERWARDS... ie, with Maria the chicken lady. I take it all back... I LOVED Retribution! I watched it for days on end like a blubbering wreck. It was beautiful!!!!
(pfft, and I call myself a Hornblower fan...)

(did you ever notice in the Dutchess and the Devil the Spanish guard who locks Archie & Horatio back in the cell at the end of the episode? He has this massive smirk on his face, and he nods to himself as they smile at eachother...
So undeniably slashy. XD

I think everyone in the prison knew about Archie and Horatio, I mean, that whole 'spoon feeding' deal, and the lying on top of him in order to force him to drink. Hunter offed himself so that they could have the cell to themselves.
